necro/warrior or warrior/necro?
I chose warrior/necro so i can take dmg and still be able to cast spells. However, what i realized is that i lack alot of energy.....(I started playin few days ago.)
I would go necro/warrior but it seems ptless because i will lack defense and there are alot of other class that can do more dmg. Is there anyway to have decent energy with warrior/necro? or can i be necro/warrior and still be effective warrior? |

kind of depends on how you play.
is this just playing through the campaign? do you have 3 other fighters to hide behind? w/n and the energy thingis a pain in the ass, but I love the armor. I play w/just a friend of mine (squishy e/m) on lan and a monk henchie who gets killed every fight. I have found an item that is used in place of shield that gives me +15 energy, but drops my regen a pip (making it pretty brutal). so far, since I also have adrenal skills to use, I try to stick to the lower energy skills and it works out pretty good, although there's definitely an energy crunch. but I think I prefer that to getting butchered every other fight. I hear that later in the game you can get some gladiator's armor that adds energy. which should kick ass. ps all you need to do is make it through one combat and you can let yourself recharge fully --- it's not so bad. of course, if you had become used to a caster class you'd probably go nuts --- this is my first character. oh, I shhould also mention that the other way around I would have got soul reaping which sucks energy off dead bodies --- which would be pretty sweet. of course, I didn't know anything when I started. |

w/n is nice because of the armor but horrible because of the energy as stated
n/w is totally doable tormentors armor would not be a bad choice its armor 70 but you take more dmg from holy spells (banish symbol of wrath) ect ect. so it would be good for most of the game except for pvp IMO but if you were to use some vampiric skills - vampiric touch vampiric gaze you shouldnt have to much problem, i have a n/w with aura of the liche its great but thats not until the end of the game n/w has many spell casting/energy advantges while the w/n has the armor advantage the choice is truly yours |

I think you made the right choice. If you had gone n/w, you would have had to have gotten very good quite quickly - otherwise you probably would have found it so frustrating that you gave up on it. |

Necros with swords get almost as much abuse as a warrior with a wand.

Warrior/mesmer is actually a pretty good combo.
Not many people use them, but with some points in Inspiration magic, they can use good skills like Elemental/physical resistance and Ether Feast. Ether Feast gives a nice amount of health and the resistances give you some extra armor, while not cancelling out your stance. That's what I am at the moment. |
